In affiliate marketing it is true that there is always a perpetual search for the product that will give the most lucrative commission. There is no magic formular that will bring this to reality as internet marketing is actually based on good business practices, hardwork and dedication. In other words, you must first of all be committed to your business, develop an effective business plan and be ready to diligently implement and see through your plan.

In seeking to achieve this, you should apply a number of strategies that have successfully delivered in internet marketing and will continue to deliver in affiliate marketing anyday, anytime. There are basically three strategies that you could apply in order to, not only survive online, but thrive quite effortlessly once you master the processes and the relatively simple chores involved.

I refer to them as strategies because I assume you are in this for the long haul and not just a sprint. These strategies, which have actually benefited many affiliate marketers to achieve successes online, year after year, are as follows:

1. The Use of Unique pages

It is highly advisable to use unique pages in promoting your products but care should be taken not to lump all the products on a single page in a clumsy manner. This will certainly confuse your site visitors and make it difficult for them to easily identify the unique features of the products you are promoting.

Endeavour to make clear and unambiguous product reviews on your website in order to explain the individual strengths and benefits of the products i.e. preselling ,so that by the time the visitors are taken to landing pages of the merchant sites they are more than ready to simply make a purchase.

You should also try to include some testimonials freely given by customers who have used the products and have found them to be of benefit to them. The testimonials should include their names, addresses and pictures in order to add to the credibility of the products you are marketing.

You should also consider writing articles highlighting the main beneficial features of the products and publish them on the web site as additional pages. However, you must make these pages compelling, unique and must include call to action otherwise the prospects could just read and move on. Take the time to write compelling headlines as this is the first thing that will attract the customer in the first place. Similarly, the body of the article should itemize in bullet points the strong points of the product
as it will facilitate faster understanding of the product in question.

2. Free Reports

You should try to place, at a conspicuous location on your website, a link through which visitors could sign up for a short e-course spanning five or seven days or even download a free report that is informative and educative which will help the visitor in solving some of his problems. It is generally believed that it takes an average of seven exposures or reminders before a sale could be closed. The prospect could have left the offer to be concluded later when he is freer or has more time but forgets. A regular follow-up will therefore serve as reminder to the prospect. In this wise, you should consider writing some auto responder messages that will automatically follow-up even when you are undertaking other actions.

However, a note of caution here; while every effort mill be made to convince the prospect to buy your product, you should not turn your autoresponder messages into sales pitches.

Similarly, avoid using the word, “free” in the subject or title of your follow-up emails as some spam filters may dump your messages into junk boxes and may therefore never be read. Again, focus on the benefits and uses of the product to the customer and create some sense of urgency while emphasizing the feel of loss to the prospect should he fail to purchase your product.

3. Targeted Traffic

While you should not spare any effort in getting as many people as possible to your site, it is equally true that you need only visitors that are somehow interested in what you are offering and are therefore more likely to buy. Those that are not interested in your product will simply scan through your site and never come back.

In order to locate publications that are interested in your niche or target market you have to write articles and reports for publication in e-zines. You can write a minimum of 2 articles per week with an average length of 500 words and get them published to get an average of 100 visitors per day should you maintain this practice weekly. It is actually established that only about 1 person out of 100 will buy your product. Therefore, the more people you are able to attract the better your chances of generating more sales or sign –ups.

These strategies are quite simple and cost free and require little time. However, you must, as stated at the beginning of this article, have a business plan that will guide your actions with a view to achieving maximum success. Thus, if you wish to continue to earn fat commission checks from your affiliate programmes you must make the necessary effort to apply all or most of the strategies highlighted above. You will not only survive but you will thrive.
