The Maine Coon is one of my favorite cat breeds.  It is a natural cat that originated in Maine.  You will find them in almost any village in that part of the world.

The Korat cat is one of the oldest stable cat breeds.  This breed originates in Thailand and is named for the Nakhon Ratchasima province.

The Javanese is from ancient Egypt.  It has a long, silky coat that comes in a variety of colors.  They are related to the Siamese and so are noted as being very intelligent and talkative.
The Japanese Bobtail cat has an unusual bobbed tail closely resembling the tail of a rabbit.  So long as both parents are bobtails, all kittens born will have bobtails.
The Havana Brown cat breed is also known as the Swiss Mountain cat that was well known and shown in England in the 1890s.  This cat is similar to the oriental shorthair and full color cats.
The Exotic cat breed is result of a cross between the American Shorthair and the Persian done in the United States around 1960.  The Exotic Shorthair was recognized by CFA in 1966.
The European Burmese refers to Burmese cats developed by the British.  The name marks it as a different CFA breed from the round, compact, 4-color Burmese breed

The exact origin of the Egyptian Mau is not recorded.  It is often said this cat comes from African wild cats and is a descendant of the cats seen in wall paintings of Ancient Egypt.

The Devon Rex is a cat breed that emerged in England during the 1960s.  They are known for their odd, striking appearance as well as their playful, companionable nature.
