Cape Cod: Brewster, Massachusetts


Brewster is an ideal location on Cape Cod Bay.  Its seafaring past has earned Brewster the nickname of “Sea Captain’s Town.”  Many of Brewster’s residents in the 18th and 19th centuries made their living at sea.  It was a lively economic center having packet boats frequently sailing between Breakwater Beach in Brewster and Boston.  The residents who flourished during this time built stately homes that still grace Old King’s Highway today.
